What Would You Like to See?
After a two week break from the blog, much traveling, and much thought, I constantly find myself asking what my purpose is for writing this blog. Sure, it’s called the Not-So-Secret Stash. I titled it this because I want to give away my knowledge. I want to give away great resources for freelancers and designers. But is that really all? What would a secret stash mean to you?
My profession may be design, but sometimes I don’t always feel like writing a design-related post. In fact, I love writing in general, and the last thing I want is to think of my blog as a chore. No, I want to look at it and be excited to contribute something each week to my readers. My blog should not, and will not, feel like a homework assignment. I want to let my thoughts flow freely and openly each week. It should be authentic at all times, no questions asked.
I like writing out my thoughts late at night in my notepad on my phone. I like writing in journals. I like writing poetry (or what is an attempt at poetry). I like being real with my audience: you guys! I’m just me. And you will always see that.
No plastic-y or cookie-cutter posts. No copy-and-pastes or paraphrasing. Not that I have or will ever do that, but we all have seen so many articles online that sound so alike or follow a numerical format. Or, have a clickbait title. Okay so I am guilty of some of these. Sue me. But for this section of my website, it is very important that I really let my personality shine on a consistent basis. I will not be confined by what I should or shouldn’t say because it doesn’t have a “professional” tone. I write curse words in my posts, fuck it.
And I want to write about whatever the fuck I want to write about. Period.
Now this does not mean that from now on I’m about to write about willy nilly stuff that really has nothing to do with my purpose. What will happen in this little space of mine on the internet will be much more than that, it will make me feel alive, and hopefully spark something inside of you too.
So tell me, what would you like to see more of on the Not-So-Secret Stash? I am so open, and ready to take on this new chapter.
Keep kicking creative ass! ✦
